How are cars shipped from China to Kazakhstan?
By rail through the two China–Kazakhstan crossings, Dostyk–Alashankou and Altynkol–Khorgos, according to Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, the national railway (KTZ). Road transport is also used for smaller lots. We confirm the route and transit time on the quotation.
What approval does an imported CX-5 need in Kazakhstan?
Kazakhstan applies the Eurasian Economic Union technical regulation TR CU 018/2011 on the safety of wheeled vehicles. New vehicle types need a vehicle type approval (OTTS); individual vehicles are approved with a vehicle design safety certificate (SBKTS) (Adilet legal database, Atameken). Plan this step with your certification agent before shipment.
Are there age limits for used cars in Kazakhstan?
Proposals to restrict older imported cars have been discussed, including a ban on cars over seven years old that was reported as paused in October 2025 (Tengrinews). Check the current rule before ordering any used CX-5.
For new units, the Prestige AWD and heated-seat Elegance trims are the usual choices for Kazakh winters.
