The 2024 Mazda CX-5 2.5L Premium is the performance-oriented front-wheel-drive trim of the 2024 range. Its PY 2.5-litre SKYACTIV-G engine produces 144 kW (196 PS) at 6,100 rpm and 252 N·m, driving the front wheels through a 6-speed automatic, with a top speed of 194 km/h and WLTC fuel use of 7.4 L/100 km. It rides on 225/55 R19 tyres and comes with leather seats, a power driver seat with memory, heated front seats, a power tailgate, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and autonomous emergency braking. A 360° camera is optional. It suits markets where buyers expect a stronger engine in an SUV.
The 2.5-litre engine gives the CX-5 noticeably stronger acceleration and more relaxed overtaking, especially when fully loaded or in hot climates where air-conditioning load is high. That is why dealers in the Gulf and other high-temperature markets often specify the 2.5L over the 2.0L.
